A girl was found locked in a cage the size of a crib by police in New Mexico, FOX News reports Jan. 29. 33-year-old Cindy Patriarchias of Las Cruces and her 37-year-old boyfriend, Edmond Gonzales, were arrested Friday night after a welfare worker discovered the eight-year-old girl in a wooden cage inside the home.
How much should you fork out for a Natural Baby mattress? For an average to good crib mattress, expect to shell out just below $100. You may not get the best brand ones but we think it should be adequate for your baby.
Check the cover. Multi-layer covers are a good bet for durability, in case one layer gets worn through or compromised. Some crib mattresses have an anti-microbial layer on top, and this may help cut down on germs from spit-ups and diaper accidents. You can also check to see how the mattress cover is sealed. Do the plastic seams appear to be sturdy, or are they weak and ready to split open? Are fabric seams smooth from the start or do they appear stressed and ready to pop open? If allergies run in the family, a fully sealed crib mattress may be a good choice.
As you well know, not all mattress are created equal. As humans we are very fussy about what we sleep on. And there isn’t to many things as important to one’s health as proper rest. We realize that this is very important also when it comes to our children, especially our babies. And if our infants don’t sleep well neither do we! But we are talking here about more than just sleeping well. We are talking about sleeping safe.
Foam or coils? It’s actually not that much of an importance. Foam tends to be cheaper and they are just as safe as long as you do not choose a soft mattress. Foam is also lighter. If you’re worried about having a firm mattress, choose coils. The more coils, the firmer it is.
Resistant to wetness. A good crib mattress should have a waterproof or at least a water-resistant cover. This type of top surface is great for two reasons. First of all, it will allow you to clean the mattress with a quick wipe form a damp cloth if your baby’s diaper overflows in the wee hours of the morning. Secondly, it will also keep wetness from penetrating to the mattress core and encouraging the growth of bacteria or mold.
Painting the baby’s room is one of the initial things mothers and fathers do to get ready for the new baby. Much time and thought goes into deciding on the right theme and hue. When considering paint for the walls, make sure that you use a low or no VOC paint. A ordinary paint has large amounts of volatile organic compounds which can be damaging to baby’s lungs.
Vi. What’s more, your kids require a constant body temperature throughout the day. It is very hard for a non-organic mattress to give your child a body temperature that is appropriate for his growth. However, when you buy a perfectly created organic mattress, you can rest assured that your kid will never catch a cold.
